Ian Connors, Director of Sports Performance, M.S, CSCS
Ian serves as the Director of Sports Performance at 4.40 Performance. Ian is the guiding force behind 4.40 Performance's training philosophy & methodology, utilizing a science-driven approach to continuously evolve & improve upon his understanding of human performance. He oversees all performance training, instructor quality & staff eduction. Prior to joining the 4.40 Performance staff, Ian attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where he earned both his B.S. & M.S. in Exercise Science. While completing his Masters degree he participated in and managed the muscle physiology laboratory, conducting research focused on skeletal muscle inflammation and the role of physical activity and other lifestyle factors on such markers. Ian is a published researcher and has presented his lab findings at several regional & national conferences (American College of Sports Medicine). Ian is recognized as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength & Conditioning Association.
Alexis Connors, Director of Business Operations, Assistant Director of Sports Performance, B.S.
Alexis serves as the Director of Business Operations & Assistant Director of Sports Performance at 4.40 Performance. In this role, she manages all daily facilty operations, coordinates schedules, manages web & phone correspondence, and assists with the oversight of staff & programming. Alexis has been with the company since its inception in 2011, first as an athlete, then as an intern, and finally her current role. Prior to joining the 4.40 Performance staff, Alexis was an accomplished Division 1 lacrosse player at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina and a two-time Big South Champion. Alexis completed her degree in Exercise Science during this time, graduating in May 2016. Upon graduating with her B.S., Alexis completed a 6-month Athletic Performance Internship at the University of California, Los Angeles where she coached several 2012 & 2016 Summer Olympic athletes.
Chris serves as the Director of Personal Training & Front Desk Manager at 4.40 Performance. Chris graduated from The University of Akron with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science - Strength & Conditioning in 2021. During this time he became a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Strength & Conditioning Association in 2017.
Jacob’s background comes from training and athletic experiences. Prior to his start at 4.40, Jacob completed our semester long internship program before graduating from Kent State and becoming a member of the 4.40 coaching staff. Through this internship he has gained knowledge and experience in sports performance and athlete communication.
Leah serves as the Director of Personal Training & Sports Performance Coach at 4.40 Performance. Leah graduated from The University of Akron with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science - Strength & Conditioning in 2021, during this time she completed a summer internship at 4.40 Performance where she gained experience and knowledge on Sports Performance Coaching. She also is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Strength & Conditioning Association.
Xavier's background comes from sports and training throughout High School and his 4 years as a collegiate baseball player. He started at 4.40 in the summer of 2020 as an Intern and gained knowledge and experience in the Sports Performance field. Xavier graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2021 with a Bachelors in Health and Human Kinetics.
