Alexis Kroah, Director of Business Operations, Director of Sports Performance, B.S.

Alexis serves as the Director of Business Operations & Director of Sports Performance at 4.40 Performance. In this role, she manages all daily facility operations, coordinates schedules, manages web & phone correspondence, and assists with the oversight of staff & programming. Alexis has been with the company since its inception in 2011, first as an athlete, then as an intern, and finally her current role. Prior to joining the 4.40 Performance staff, Alexis was an accomplished Division 1 lacrosse player at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina and a two-time Big South Champion. Alexis completed her degree in Exercise Science during this time, graduating in May 2016. Upon graduating with her B.S., Alexis completed a 6-month Athletic Performance Internship at the University of California, Los Angeles where she coached several 2012 & 2016 Summer Olympic athletes.

Jacob Howell, Lead Sports Performance Coach, B.S.

Jacob’s background comes from training and athletic experiences. Prior to his start at 4.40, Jacob completed our semester long internship program before graduating from Kent State and becoming a member of the 4.40 coaching staff. Through this internship he has gained knowledge and experience in sports performance and athlete communication.

Macy Taylor, Sports Performance Coach, B.S., ACSM-CEP

Macy graduated from Truman State University with a BS in Exercise Science as well as a BS in Psychology. While at Truman she played softball for 4 years and did multiple research studies focused on sports performance. In summer ‘22 she completed a semester long internship at 4.40 where she developed her coaching skills. Macy has also coached youth club softball for 4 years.

Trevor Harris, Sports Performance Coach, B.S.

Prior to joining the 4.40 Performance staff, from 2016-2019 Trevor was an assistant football strength and conditioning coach at The University of Akron. Trevor then spent 1 year as the Director of Athletic Performance at Malone University. In 2020, Trevor became a MiLB Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the San Francisco Giants. Since 2021, he has been training athletes from middle school to professionals both in-person and remotely. Trevor earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from The University of Akron in Exercise Science and Physical Education/Coaching.

Rachel Graber, Director of Personal Training & Sports Performance Coach, B.A., NASM

Rachel holds 2 certifications through NASM as a Certified Personal Trainer and the Group Training Specialist Certification. Prior to that, she also attended and obtained her B.A. from The University of Akron. Rachel has worked for the past 2 years as a personal trainer in the medical fitness industry working primarily with injuries, injury prevention, movement mechanics, and strength training. Rachel has been participating in the sport of Ultimate from a young age and has most recently competed on the 2022 roster for the Cleveland Crocs Mixed Club Ultimate Team. In addtion to competing, she has also been involved in the sport of Ultimate at the local level and has been an active board member of the Canton Akron Ultimate.

Jakob Yarosh, Personal Trainer, A.S., ACSM

Jakob holds an A.S. from North Central State College. He also holds a certification through the ACSM as a Certified Personal Trainer. Currently, he is a senior at the University of Mount Union and will graduate with a B.S. in Exercise Science in May of 2024. While at Mount Union, Jakob played collegiate volleyball for 3 years, where he played the positions of defensive specialist, outside and right-side hitter, setter, and serving specialist. Additionally, Jakob completed a personal training-focused internship with 4.40, where he refined his skills and gained experience in working with clients. As a trainer, he focuses on developing strength in his clients, bolstering their confidence, and pushing them to achieve their goals.

Mike Humston, Golf Specific Personal Trainer, ISSA, TPI

Mike grew up in the Akron area and now resides in Green. He is a former high school and college football athlete who has an extensive background in sports and fitness training. Mike is certified in Personal Training and Strength and Conditioning through ISSA along with being TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) certified where he specializes in Golf Fitness and Performance. While working full-time, he is going through the PGA Program to become a PGA Professional. He has a passion to help young athletes and anyone who wants to reach their fitness or sport specific goals.
